Vermicelli casserole
Ingredients (for 4 servings):
  • Vermicelli or any short pasta — 200 g
  • Eggs — 3 pieces
  • Milk — 250 ml
  • Hard cheese — 120 g
  • Butter — 20 g
  • Salt — to taste
  • Ground black pepper — to taste
  • Oregano, basil — to taste
  • (Optional) ham/vegetables — 100 g
Preparation:
  1. Boil the vermicelli or chosen pasta shape until al dente. Drain the water.
  2. In a bowl, mix eggs, milk, spices, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Add grated cheese and (optionally) finely chopped vegetables or ham to the mixture.
  4. Combine the pasta with the resulting mixture and mix well.
  5. Grease a baking dish with butter and pour in the mixture.
  6. Bake at 180°C for about 20–25 minutes, until the top is golden.
  7. Let the casserole cool slightly and serve warm.
Helpful tip

To make the casserole juicier, add some sour cream or heavy cream to the egg-milk mixture. If you want a crispy crust, sprinkle more cheese on top 5 minutes before it’s done.
